RS door panels

I want to put RS door panels in my 930......
That being said, the 930 has that round door lock knob, the electric switches for the windows....etc.

Does the door panels come with cut outs to mount this stuff?

Does the door handle get in the way of the door lock knob?

Any lessons learned?

Is it better to get the kit and build your own? If so what material did you use for the panel?

AppBiz's do, They come w/ all the holes cut in the backing board including the lower screw holes, you cut the vinyl cover. They go in very easily compared to some of the others I've seen

Interesting. I read a review (here on Pelican, in the parts info section) of the Appbiz OE-style door panels that stated that none of the holes were cut in those. So it would appear that they pre-cut for the RS and not the OE-style? Seems odd to me, you'd think they would use the same base board for both.

The backing board is pre-punched on both the RS and OE style door panels from Appbiz. The vinyl is not punched on either.

I recently installed a set of their OE style door panels on my '75.

That makes total sense. Thanks for confirming, I'm thinking of replacing my door panels soon, this makes the decision a bit easier.

Also, Appbiz has the reinforcements where he cuts out and put the vinyl/leather - window switches. It is a complete package and looks great! When you call and speak with Bob he will ask the right questions.

it pays to be careful who you pay attention to

Here's a spare right side I have laying around, options are welting and switch surround, they are worth it. The last one I had was from the other guys, it was a royal PIA to place the holes w/o a template.

It comes w/ the lower holes prepunched for the dual screw early doors, the 993 only uses 1 of each pair

I recently put RS America door panels on my '73 911T that has some other RS features and they look great! The factory OEM panels and storage boxes were all screwed up and to replace them was astronomical. Got all my stuff from Pelican Parts and the upholsterer commented that all the stuff, to include carpet and headliner, were the best they've dealt with in a long time.

I wish I had done this, or at least, what some other member suggested, put foam padding behind the door panel near this lock button so the panel is forced out against the plastic bezel. If you don't, you risk a gap between the bezel that looks unfinished. I'll do this next time I have the panel off.

Also, I had to add a few of those plastic locking rivets around my door panel to keep it against the door securely. I've had my RS panels on for about 5 years, I really like them compared to the stock look.

Appbiz customer service is good up until you purchase there product, then when you buy it and try to install thats where it ends. I bought the rs carpet kit.

Porsche Crest Appbiz

Well I got my panels in and installed them.
Ordered them from APPBIZ...Price was good, service was good and the product is first rate.

I have a question though...the red door pull doesn't want to move back into the door after it is pulled freely enough. on the passenger side sometimes I have to push it in. Yes the offset is to the rear.....any ideas?

They look great, but where do you put your left elbow? I do a lot of highway driving in my 930 and couldn't imagine not having a left elbow rest (or maybe I would prop it on the seat bolster?).
