Porsche Crest Carrera Duck Tail For FREE!!

This is not as good as the legendary "Two FREE Porsche" posting but I thought I'd share it with the group.

I went to the local Porsche garage with a friend to pick up his car after a tune up. While he was taking care of business I was checking out the parts pile in search of whatever. Nothing good in the junk pile but sitting in the dumpster was a perfect Carrera Duck Tail. I asked the owner about it and he said "if you want it get it".

So in my possession is a near new Carrera Duck Tail.

That’s it. I'm so jazzed I just had to share!

Congrats. I'd love to have a ducktail. Did you see that the black turbo in the recent Excellence got its magnesium center wheels from a dumpster. The guy said this dumpster is pretty well known. I'd guess that the dumpsters outside performance places and busy Porsche shops sometimes hold real treasures.

Simon, why would you put it on e-bay, when some of your fellow Pelican Heads are obviously interested in it? Now I'm not trying to say you shouldn't make a buck off your good fortune, but why not put a reasonable price on it and let one of the guys here buy it? At least you know it would go to a good home.

I am not, and will never be an E-Bay user. Just my view.

I have nothing against ebay per se, especially if I know or have a little info on the seller. I'll bid.

Incidentally, can anyone here suggest a more fair way to sell it, since half of the people on this board may be interested, for the right price? Just wondering.

Wow!

I didn’t know I was going to get this kind of response from this post. I agree fully with "Kurt V" and that I should have sold it within the Pelican Group. After reading his post I felt bad and tried to retract my post from eBay but someone already bid on the item. No can do.

My reasoning for the whole eBay thing was that I was already getting bombarded with email and thought that eBay would be the most fair and hassle free method to sell this item.

If Pelican had some sort of auction service available I would have used it.

Yes! My father is Mexican. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by your comment?

Let the kid alone, he was only trying to do a favor... (sounds familiar, too)

smestas,

You can still cancel the eBay auction. You just need to cancel the existing bids first.
