My brother has a C43, the later little brother to the E500 (but still hiding the massive AMG-tuned V8 under the hood) and that car is beyond thrilling to drive. It's actually fairly similar to a 928 S4. Ridiculous power, smooth delivery, quiet cruising. - Matt

Who wants to be the first to start build thread on the B32 replica? That would be fun.

I owned a '91 VW Vanagon Carat, the last of the breed sold here in the United States. One magazine dubbed it, "the Porsche 911 of minivans" at the time. It ranks #2 of the most fun vehicles I've ever owned. I've always dreamed of building something like the B32, maybe after I retire...

I read about the B32 it in some VW mag when they were first built. At that time the price was quoted at around $32K, while a new Porsche was $16K. The Race -Taxi reminds me of a B32 on steroids, >>>> welcome at race-taxi.ch <<<<.
The B32 was my inspiration for putting a 3.2 & 5 sp. in my '68 Crewcab. And a bunch of other things so I could turn & stop. Here's another shot of the B32. Fun stuff. ![]()

Well,
Being sort of the grumpy old man type, I'd have to answer the question with: When it has water in its radiators..... When it has four doors When it is a minivan..... When it weighs more than 1.49 tons When it shifts itself...... When you have to plug a laptop into it for repair..... Etc, etc, .... But some people tell me I'm too opinionated ![]() |

Being a long-time Audi guy, when 2019 rolls around (USDOT limit on an importation ban is 25 years, thus 1994 + 25 = 2019) I am going to be shopping for a Nogaro Blue RS2. I can have both my Porsche and my turbo Audi, all in one , fast package.
I have driven a Canadian RS2 at an Audi gathering in the PNW. The spec sheet says the car is fast. The reality is the car is VERY fast, is quite nimble, and the braking is stellar. I was pretty impressed. Having said that, the car is fundamentally an Audi. Audi ergonomics, Audi appearance, Audi driving characteristics and if not for the "LOOK AT ME!!!!" blue of the paint, you'd just plain never know what it was. In Meteor Grey, you'd have a car that would be the definition of "Q Ship". |
