996 Rotors

Have been using cross drilled OEM rotors on my 2002 911 - with regular track days they start to develop cracks of 0.5 to 1.0 mm coming from the holes. Does anyone have experience using slotted rather than cross drilled rotors? What are the benefits/disadvantages of slotted v cross drilled?
Thanks

Since switching to Giro disk slotted front rotors I get 6-7000+ track only miles ou of them, I used to get 3-4000 track only moles out of the oe rotors.

In back where the stresses are less I have to change the oe drilled rotors at about the same 6-7000mi as on the fronts.

Giro disk besides being slotted are also floating which doesn't hurt either

more mass to the rotor and therefore more heat dissipation. not only that but you have no holes to get cracks generating. You still need to examine the rotor surface for cracks but rotors are less likely to have catastrophic failure like can happen when drilled rotors crack and chunk off.
