Can you help adjust my bra?

So a buddy who has since sold his 911 gave me the bra he used on long drives. Im not a huge fan but on road trips it would be nice to keep the rock chips and bugs to a minimum. The problem im having is that it fits like a glove but the hood wont close when that portion of the bra is on.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks, Vince

Hardly anyone uses those anymore so I'd have to see a pic.
Most use the magnetic jobs or get a clear 3m protective coating.
If poorly adjusted a bra can do as much damage, if not more, than going without.

You just need to pop off the two black plastic screw caps on bottom plastic trim cover where bottom latch resides, there you'll need to adjust the latch (upwards slightly by loosening & adjusting the two screws/nuts) in order to allow for a greater gap when hood is closed. IIRC the two screws are allen key 8mm or 9mm (I forget)?

canamfan is spot on. Bummer is that if you use it for long trips only you have to readjust the latch back down for routine driving.

My car came with a bra when I bought it long ago. I used it for ONE long trip. What a pain. If you come up on a rain storm it really needs to come off or road grime will get forced up under the bra and destroy the paint. I had to pull off at a gas station and take a wet bra off and then find a place to put it with a car packed for two. I think I still have it but next time I see it it will go in the trash.

I have been using a one-piece bra since I got the car in 1979. Then the consensus was that the on-piece bra is the best protection with the least amount of possible paint finish damage. I have used also driving in heavy rains. But after the trip that bra has to come off, cleaned and be dried. Not really a big deal with a one-piece bra. I keep my one-piece bra on all the time and have yet to see signs of wear on my paint finish. Sure the car looks better from the outside without it. But I don't care because I don't see it when I am in the car. And at about $100.- for the removable bra versus $ 1,000.- for the clear bra, I think it's a deal.
