Warn Brake Pad Indicator Light

Had the worn brake pad indicator light come on today. Pads were replaced less than 1,000 miles ago, no aggressive activity that would cause the pads to even come close to be worn severely. Will this light come on if one of the indicator wires breaks, comes loose, etc? In other words, other than pads being worn, what would cause the light to illuminate ? Thanks !

brake pad wear indicator light question......
chances are one of the sensors may need to be replaced if it's stuck at ground. the attatched thread has some very good info in it.
hope this helps
