Euro SC power output
Hello,
Would a euro 1981 911 SC have higher compression and more power than its US counterpart and thus higher HP? Is there a stigma in terms of value with a grey market SC? I sure don't care. It hasn't a sunroof, which i like. Not original, repainted and Odo is broken but looks well cared for and runs well. Looking at one in NY state this weekend to buy. Thanks in advance, -Matt

Yes, they have more HP and torque.
81 thru 83 is the 930-10 ROW (Euro) with 204 HP and 9.8 to 1 comp. 196 ft lbs @ 4200 rpm the US version 930-16 has 180 HP 9.3-1 comp. 180 ft lb @ 4200 I have an '83 930-10 in my US '83 SC and love it but do not have to worry about emissions testing. |
