Thanks porsche930dude...that is perfect...!!!
I had a door card off last nite & it must of fell out of one of the water drain holes while I was working on lubing the window mechanical internals... I hope the window continues to work... :-)

well, I took the door cover off to lube the door handle as it was sticking so I figured while I am in here, I would lube the window tracks, pivot points, ect...maybe & hopefully it is from the PO fixing the regulator...I dont want to go back in there if i dont have to...window is going up & down fine for now anyways...
thx again for your quick reply...bob

That part is staked to your window regulator and retains your regulator spring tension to compensate for the weight of your window glass when cranking your window up. You didn't state what year your 911 is but, assuming it has regulator motors and without the tension from the spring you are placing undo load on the motor. Just go to the hardware store and purchase a plated hex standoff with threads and matching screw. Probably will have to trim the length of the standoff and screw to prevent interference. After mounting the standoff be sure and wind spring to pre-load tension.

it could be that PO just failed to retrieve / remove it from the door bottom when he replaced it.

I've got the same issue - and two questions:
I took some measurements, the "shorter" one is from the "shoulder" of the pin (or what's left of it). Thanks, Pelicans! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
