Motronic Reset?

I put a new battery in my '86 911 Carrera recently and was wondering if there is a reset procedure for the Motronic ecu? I have a '92 Ferrari 348TS with two Motronic ECU's from the same era and every time you use the factory battery cut-off switch or unhook the battery you must let the car run without touching anything until the radiator fans kick on. It states in the factory service manual that the ecu has to reset it's parameters this way. I've never heard about doing this with a 911, but was wondering if anybody else has? The 911 fired up fine and I let i warm up a while for the hell of it without touching anything.

As Howard alludes to, there is no reset on the 3.2 DME's, as there is no 'persistent' memory like EEPROM or FLASH memory. Every start of the 3.2 is brand new, doesn't know if it's the first start from the factory or starting up 25 years later.

Wave a dead chicken counterclockwise over your head.

(Same technique works with computers too!)
