mirror question

My New to me 84 RoW has been a great learning challenge.
One thing that has me stumped is the outside mirrors. The drivers side works fine, for a 30yo electric mirror. But the pass side remains a mystery. I have looked at my friends US version and it has a switch on the underside of the dash. Mine does not. I've tried twisting, turning, pushing, depressing the one switch on the drivers door to no avail. I've looked in the glove box.

So is it just a mechanical mirror that i'm too afraid of breaking to push around or is there a secret somewhere?

Most likely, your car originally only had one outside mirror. It wouldn;t surprise me if someone installed a used power mirror on the right side and didn't add the extra wiring and switch. Have a look at the back side of the mirror glass and see if the guts look the same as the one on the left side.

Ah I bet that's it, it was added later. Never thought of that. I guess that was more likely on a gray market car.

Ok I'll check and manually adjust and hope I don't break the mounting.

right, what I meant to say was I don't want to break what ever delicate little parts that are supporting the mirror. If it was an electric motor and fittings it might not like being manhandled too much.

Manual manipulation of the electric motor mounted mirror
