Measuring 0-60 times and Horsepower too with a small plug in device?

Hi there,

I recently saw a commercial that advertised a plug in item (into the cigarette lighter) that measures 0-60 times and horsepower as well.

Does anyone have one of these, and is it accurate? What is it called? The one I saw is around $150.00. Thanks for the input.

regards,

Are you thinking of the G-Tech Pro? Don't have one, but I do know someone here has one, just don't remember who. It sounded like it works, just have to mount it very solidly.

Yes it's a g-tech pro. It's an accelerometer and a DSP, and it measures 0-60 times, with a slight (maybe a tenth or two) optimism. It guesstimates horsepower based on acceleration rates and the weight of the car (that you have to enter in).

Now that I am on leave, I was planning to do some G-Tech runs and post some numbers up.

Ready to go, plug her into the cigarette lighter and she blinks once and dies! Tried it a few times and now it doesn't power up at all. The cigarette lighter works tho. The darn thing has gone BUNG on me

I opened it up and there's no visual signs of a burnt out component or a fuse for that matter

DAMN!!!

Jon,

I'm in NYC and have one if you want to play around with it. I'll probably be at Lime Rock on Monday too.

Hey,

Yip, you guys are right........it's the Gtech-pro. Brad, thanks for the offer, but I'm not gonna be at Lime Rock for the rest of this season (boo-hoo). Maybe at the next area "gathering."

Which reminds me, shouldn't we be trying to plan a September event or something? Marc Weintraub, what do you think? Another Palisades run would be great.

regards,
