Another early hotrod - Meet Jezebel....

All, meet Jezebel.

Like many others here my goal is a ‘mid-weight’ early hot rod with lots of shiny add ons….

This project has been progressing for a few weeks now but I thought I would share...

The car was purchased on Ebay from ID and is a great base for the project. (Thanks to those of you who bid against me! )

1971 911T with no current rust and minimal prior repairs.
3.0SC with 915
S front brakes and Carrera struts
Adjustable front sway bar

First step was disassembly and inspection. I am lucky in that this was a family effort and went smoothly.

Driving the car identified a gearbox noise that was out of place, the guys at Storz did an amazing, and friendly job of identifying a nose bearing issue and setting to work. They are also storing the engine and trans while the car is in paint..

One of the touches I wanted was the center fill tank. After (eventually) receiving the parts from TRE I set to work with the father in law. Definitely a job that requires focus but straightforward and relatively easy to get a good result. One thing I found is that if when everything is reassembled the alignment of filler to hole is off slightly this can easily be remedied (and caused) by up to a ˝” or more in any direction by thickening up the seal under one side of the tank….

After more disassembly, and media blasting of some panels at Blast Tech the car went off to paint with Dave Imes at Apex in Denver. If you are thinking of doing the same PM me for more insight.......

After a while at Apex the car looked like this today..

Final paint color is to take the pattern from Magnus’s red car below but replace the red with the green from the VW.

The roll bar and dash trim will also be painted green and having these painted an on the car won’t hurt either 

Love the lights!

If you did that upgrade alone you wouldn't even need to take the car apart to make a major improvement

gostraight...thanks for that!

I think a couple of Germans were also in the mix so as you likely saw the final $$ was not pretty.

Some might say too high for the car but it was just what I wanted, a straight early car already with the 3.0 and 915. If I had to start with a stock car I still believe the cost would have been far higher....

You're welcome Sam. I think you got it for a good price.I'm just a cheap bastard. Any car I buy i pay no more than 60% of its value. This looked like a good one though. My Plan for it was to drop in my 3.8 from my race car, get a set of R comps, get a decent interior including AC, clearcoat the body as is and use it as a daily till the price gets in the 60K then readress the issue.
Anyway I like what you're doing to it. can't wait to see it done....

Looks great! I bought my first Porsche from John back in '92-ish. He actually contacted me privately to buy your car prior to the eBay auction. I didn't have time for another project but I'm very pleased to find out it has landed in great hands and I love what you have done to it!!!
