Could Low Compression Test Numbers Indicate Low Compression Ratio?
I have a 2.0 motor with DC60 cams and supposedly 10:1 compression JE pistons which runs smoothly and cleanly but does not put out anywhere near the power I would Have expected. ( 125hp vs expected 145-155hp)
A leakdown test showed approx. 2.5% and compression test 130-135 across all 6 cylinders. Could this indicate that I do not have anywhere near the compression ratio I think I have? Rob |

I think your low numbers are due to the overlap of the DC60 cams. The cylinders lose some air on the compression stroke because the intake valve is still open on the first part of the stroke.
