Why do you say amusing? Tuthills builds some great rally cars. To put an oil cooler inside a battery box would give it great protection. It would just be a matter of directing airflow across it. I like it.

The centre mount oil tank is interesting too. I had the wrong idea about where it mounts until I saw in the image gallery how they mount it above the engine at the firewall
