Engine seals ?

I will be dropping the engine for clutch and cylinder and piston upgrade. I was thinking if there is a seal kit for the motor so I can use modern oils? I live in Germany for now , ( will be moving back to New Zealand or Australia ) it is getting so green here that the forests are not green enough. The mineral oil I have used for 10 years as long as I have owned it is so hard to get hold of and expensive.
Thanks Steve.

I'm pretty sure most Porsche OEM engine seals were tolerant to most lubricants by the 1970s.

Had a good friend that used Mobil 1 in his brand new 911SC in 1982..never had a leaking problem.

I've use Rotella T6 5w40 synthetic in my 3.2 for a long time..no problems.

I think you can change engine oil types without an issue.

Being proactive and replacing the rear mainseal is a good idea..while the engine is out. Just use the OEM Porsche seal or aftermarket seal from a reputable supplier..like our host. All the seals you get for your engine work will be fine.

You may have a case of the "while I'm in there and the engine is out" too..not a bad thing. Change out those things which are tough to to when the engine is in the car. Fuel lines, intake gaskets, vacuum hoses, oil pressure lamp sender switch, thermostat "O" ring on top of the engine, crankcase breather hose outlet gasket and maybe the hose too.
