Where to buy window seals?

Hey guys I'm getting my car prepped for paint. I just pulled the windows out and I'd like to replace the old seals with new ones. The old ones didn't look bad I'm just nervous of a potential leak in the future. Would I just simply go to a glass shop and buy if off the shelf. I'm sure it's harder then that.

Pics for fun

Go with genuine Porsche. It is the best fit.

Nice car!

The short answer is NO, don't buy them from just anywhere. As Dennis said, Pelican sells them.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Only buy the original Porsche. Yes they are more expensive. Don't buy the aftermarket. Don't buy OEM. When someone says "I'm sure these are good enough" DO NOT LISTEN.

Here's why... If you could see the two products side by side the difference would be obvious. The non-Porsche ones are made from a single piece of extruded rubber. They are cut to the right length and then they glue the ends together. It is effectively a circle. The problem is when you get to the corners of the glass they fit like crap and pucker which makes them look like two rats humping in a sock and they leak. The genuine Porsche ones are actually molded corners so they fit right.

Hopefully you were careful pulling the metal trim out because getting that back on straight is not fun. It helps to have a lot of hand strength.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Thanks so much all of you! I'll for sure buy the ones from pelican. I only want to do it once. I was especially careful pulling the trim after looking at the cost of a new piece ha! Thanks guys!

If you buy them from Pelican, you'll be doing it twice. I don't know about ALL the window seals, but the front and rear window seals that Pelican shows as OEM are not Genuine Porsche. I had to return mine when I bought them, and purchase the correct Porsche ones through a local dealer.

I found that inventory on these seems to fluctuate. I was able to get genuine Porsche for the front and quarters but a genuine Porsche rear seal was hard to find. That's when I learned my lesson because I went with an "OEM".
