Need help with my fuel distributor fittings.

Hi all,

Based on a recommendation from my mechanic (long story) I've swapped out my fuel distributor from the hard line version to the soft line version. The problem is, my old fittings are the press fit kind (I'm sure there's a professional name for them) and my new connections are banjo fittings. I just did a search here and found a couple of ridiculously expensive parts. So...can I source these parts locally from an import parts place, or am I (for lack of better words) hosed?

Michael

Michael,

So you need six (6) 8-mm banjo fittings for the FD? I have an extra set for you if you want swap your old fittings. PM sent for details.

if i can ask why?

why did you remove your hard lines? I have a 75 with soft and for safety would think that hard are better.

I built my own fuel lines because of a fuel distributor relocation. I needed to free
up some space to install a larger intercooler.

Purchased everything from B.A.T. Inc. in Flordia.

So, I have all of the lines attached to the distributor (Looks like Predator. Heh heh...) but I need the connection to the other ends...basically the banjo fittings that go to (is it the WUR?) the bottom, by the injectors on the left side.

Is this what you are looking for?.......

I have most of the single fittings in stock. The compound ones are what I am trying to find.

Also have started making these.............

....for a fellow in the UK. Got the injector end done, now working on the Banjo fitment and it is tough. Have to make a special assembly tool for this.

Its been a while, but I am having fittings for the FD w seal rings and Male Cone ends made by a local machine shop. These are designed to accept Polyamid or SS lines with Female nipples at each end.

They are similar to the fitting shown below.

When I searched for these a while back I could not find them anywhere. These are M10 Seal Ring x M12 Male cone and it looks like PN 900 915 004 02. Perhaps someone can verify this.

If you have access to a local wrecking yard (i.e., pick a part), you might pay a visit and pull fittings from Mercedes and VW. I recently was at my local wrecking yard and pulled all those little hollow banjo bolts to complete a spare fuel distributor. They are not all an exact match but many are (including the bolts that fit into the top of the FD and the larger banjo bolt that fits into the WUR and the fitting that fits into the center of the FD (output to the wur). The fittings that are not the same were double threaded piece that fits into the wur.

Fuel distributor fittings

Len: Tried to send you a PM but you've "exceeded your storage capacity". I need seven of the above FD fittings for a soft line to hard line conversion on an 80SC. Charlie

Hi Charlie-

If you mean the ones above in post #12, it looks like I messed up, as the ones above do NOT fit the Fuel Distributor.

I have a number of fittings being made, and I just assumed these were for the FD. The lower half to accept a seal ring is too large.

How embarrasing.

Once they are back from the platers I will have to figure out where they go.

Please email me for all inquiries. I cannot track messages or send photos via PM.

All you have to do is go to my user name and pick "send email".

Thanks,

Len

Len,

The fitting size for the FD is 8 mm x 1.0 for both sides (distributor and fuel line). HTH.
