New owner/ member

First posts are always weird.

I let go of my e36 M3 2 years ago and have been bummed since. An old 911 has been a dream to me since I was a kid. This Christmas, I got the blessing from the wife, written inside of 'Porsche- Origin of the species'. We immediately began to obsess and scour the web for an SC. As I've read, many spend months, years in their search. I however found my car 2 days into my search in the classifieds on a site that rhymes with Lennrist. It seemed too good to be true. The price was right and the owner was very stand up, thorough and cool. A few days later I was on a flight to check it out. I have a hundred pages of receipts and the car was in storage for 15 years before the rebuilds were done. It has an awesome patina and is just in need of a good detail. It's pretty awesome.

Anyway, here is my car. I'm super excited and have only been able to drive it about 50 miles thanks to work travel, coupled with a horrific winter in the Philadelphia area. My son calls it his Porsche.

Here's the original ad-
1980 911 SC Sunroof Coupe - Rennlist Discussion Forums

And some pix-

I feel extremely lucky and am really looking forward to diving into the ownership of this car. I have a Subaru Legacy GT wagon and a Mazda CX-9 as our daily drivers, this is our fun car and this is my first air-cooled car. Expect questions from me.

Ordering a Rennshift and Ed's coupler this weekend. BTW, I read a post here about JWest not answering emails... I sent one with a dummy question and had an answer within 45 minutes. A steering wheel is next and I am absolutely torn. Holy ****, the stocker is ugly .

Black car rules! Looks like a well maintained, sorted car you can enjoy driving for awhile. Cheers and congrats to your son!!!

Very nice SC!

A car in this condition and the rebuilds would cost here round about EUR 30.000

I joined the 911 club a year ago, after dreaming about it for over 30. I couldn't be happier, congratulations and ENJOY.

If I were you, I'd get a nice picture of your wife in or next to your new obsession and post it on your thread. My wife like yours said if you want one, why not get it? We are lucky to be married to great women. Warren
