Tips for 911

Any threads hereto help with a poor running 911 that's been in storage for 5 years? I've drained the gas and the tank and tank screen/ filter look good. The car runs and drives but it does cough or backfire thru the airbox and starts to smoke some once it's warmed up.
Any suggestion for any addititives to maybe clean the injectors?
Is the smoke from bad valve seals? Car didn't smoke when I stopped. Driving it 5 years ago. The car does 195k original miles and is a 1980 911 sc targa
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I would start with a complete tune-up, including a fuel filter, plug wires, air filter, etc.
Drive it for a while to see if it cleans itself out.
If not, do a compression and leak-down test.

+1 on complete tune-up as above. I had my '79SC in storage for 16 years with gas in the tank. The biggest problem were the clogged and gummed-up gas tank fuel line connections. I would make sure that you take the tank fuel filter out, and carefully clean the fuel outlet area around the inside bottom of the tank fuel filter area. Get a new fuel tank filter, here at Pelican, it is only about $45.-. Then make sure that the fuel return tube into the tank is clear and un-obstructed. Check with compressed air! Ask me how I know.

Doesn't the SC require a pop-off valve to protect the airbox?
I would also take a close look at the fuel lines over the engine for cracks.

I do have the pop off valve installed luckily. I did end up doing an oil change and spark plugs and added some seafoam oil and fuel treatment and went for another drive. I'm really skeptical of any of these additives but 20 miles of driving and or this product and she's running great. I do need to do plug wires and probably fuel filter here soon.
I'll check all the other mentioned things along with fuel lines.

Head lights don't stay on unless I hold the dimmer switch so that needs to be addressed, man it's always something but I really appreciated the help.

Good going! And if you need help to fix that dimmer/directional switch ask for help here. Common problem, can be fixed rather easily.

If you are talking about the dimmer/turnsignal switch on the left side of the steering wheel that is available new at Pelican:

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 911-613-305-00-M78

That switch with age has the tendency to turn on the bright head lights at the slightest motion. That switch can also be fixed. Here are acouple of links for that:
