Battery Isolation

Anyone have any experience with this product? I know there are a great number using the style with the large red key, but was curious if anyone was using something like this. Plan to use it in conjunction with a Battery Tender.

PERKO Battery Switches at West Marine

Thanks

The keyed one work pretty well until the key breaks. Mine did and it was a pain to find just the replacement key. It's made of some pot metal that's pretty brittle.

The switch here is very durable. I've seen them last on boats exposed to elements for years at a time. Plus the fulcrum point on this unit is much less exaggerated than the keyed variety.

Looks like a winner. I'd be interested to know how it works out.

just from past experience search for the product outside of west marine. they have a tendency to jack their prices up quite a bit.

BTW there are 2 types of these switches....one is a complete isolation switch.
The other has 2 diodes in it so that when the batteries (1 or 2) are switched off...the alt can still charge them.
The benefit is...if running off one battery...the other gets charged...so that when you switch it on...it is fully cahrged.

Why do you need it?

And wouldn't you rather have one with a handle?
