climate control lever positions for FLOOR HEAT

What position are the levers supposed to be in if I want Heat to flow out under dash to the floor? Keep in mind my heater blower is not working, does that mean I can not get heat flowing under the dash to the floor?..is that duct only for AC?

Thanks

assuming you have manual (not auto) head, you want to do the following: 1) pull the levers behind your hand brake all the way up (this opens the heater valves and allow the air heated by the heat exchangers into the cabin ventilation system), and 2) push the bottom lever on the dash climate control system (the one with the red handle) all the way to the left (toward the down arrow) -- the bottom lever directs where the heated air you activated by pulling up the levers by the handbrake should go -- in this case, down to the under-dash vents. While a broken heater blower will limit air flow, assuming the heater valves open/close, this should bring at least some heat into the cabin. Others have indicated that cracking the sunroof while driving can increase suction into the cabin and suck in more hot air when conventional means (broken heater blower) aren't available.

check out this picture https://cvluxurycars.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/clip_image069_002.jpg

heater blower is the circular thing at the top of the black plastic "tube" on the front left side of the engine (the plastic tub that has both shell oil and freon(I believe) stickers on it from the factory). That fan should come on/get power whenever the levers are pulled up and the ignition is on. the fan controls on the dashboard (above the levers) control a different fan in the "trunk" that supplies fresh air only, and the fan knob for the AC (in front of the shifter) controls a fan for the AC/AC vents only.

And what about the dial between the seats, behind the levers, what does that control?

floor lever up or if auto dial fully clockwise
upper dash lever is the cold air control, it works like the floor lever, off to the left full on to the right, the motor has 3 speeds which are activated from the middle position and right. left of the middle position just natural flow

the 2 lower dash levers control where the relevant air is directed, either full left directs air down/full right directs air up to the windshield

middle controls outside air

lowest controls heated air

speed of footwell blowers -- note that positions zero and 1 are both the same, nothing's electrically triggered until you switch to 2 or 3.

Couple things...

Footwell blowers only run when engine compartment blower is energized.

Many (likely most) footwell blowers seized long ago. Electric motors are shot and / or fuses are blown.

There's a good thread here that covers troubleshooting and adapting the front AC condenser blower motor for use in the footwell blowers.
