Running Cold

My heat exchangers have rusted shells and my heater flapper boxes are shot. Bottom line is I have no heat in my car and it has been cold here this past week and after driving for two hours in 6 deg. C I feel the cold all the way to my bones. But the funny thing is, the smile on my face seams to keep me warm driving my p-car heat or not.

Get the car on a lift, move the flapper box vent to fully closed and tack weld the bits together for the meantime.

Failing this, cut a round piece of sheetmetal and put that over the flapper box outlet should the rotating piece be rusted in place. Again, tack weld into position.

I mean, what the hey: you are going to have to pull all of it out anyway to replace it. You can counter too much heat with an open/cracked window or by use of the fresh air lever.
