Slow oil usage/smoke on startup w/brand change?
Hey all,
I have read a comment by Bruce Anderson in Excellence or Pano, can't remember right now, that a change in brand of oil might stop smoking on start up or oil usage if I understood him right. Has any body been succesful at this just with an oil change?
(I have been using Valvoline Racing 20w-50 for some time now. Car is an 88 with 60k miles with oil changed once a year. Car averages about 5k miles a year.) If so, what oil did you go to? I am not sure I understand the theory behind this. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
