1983 911 hard starting issues - help!


motor starts then dies, to keep it running have to keep idle high, when finally get motor up to operating temp. it runs through the gears without quitting but is rich.
has been sitting for a couple of years with only being started in the spring for a bit.

sitting cars usually have problems with a sticking plunger in the fuel distributor.
rich can also be a fuel pressure problem. power to the warm up regulator/heating element in WUR.
could also be something with the frequency valve. blown fuse 15. (or is it 18?).

are you sure it is rich

That's the way my 82 Targa was when I first got her and it's taken me months to get it running right.
