Suggestions to fill turbo flares?
I've got turbo flares with 7 & 8x16 Fuchs. It doesn't fill the flare even with the spacers. What do you all suggest for this?
I was thinking maybe 9's and 11's or maybe 8's and 11's for now to keep the cost low.. What do you all think? What looks good, what can I find tires for? Thanks! ![]() ![]()

The lesson I learned recently is figure out the size tire you're going for first THEN decide on wheels. Apparently finding the equivalent tire size is impossible with 9 & 11 x 17.
If you can stand a bit bigger tire (in circumference) I suggest 9 and 11. Your other option is move the 8's to the front and find a wider rear (9s were factory). I had a set of 7x16s widened to 10.5 by Stratton motorsports in FL. It looked awesome with some 21mm spacers in the rear. |

Thanks for the replies guys. That black car is exactly what I'm looking for. My concern with moving up to 17's is the rollout and unsprung weight. I want the look but with just a 3.2 I need to keep performance in mind

Stock wheels on the turbo were 7x9x16. So even those relatively narrow wheels should work to fill out the flares, if you had a turbo or factory turbolook.
I think your problem is that you likely have SC running gear but widebody flares. So your adapters/spacers aren't nearly thick enough to place your wheels outboard enough to look good. Your choices are: a) bigger adapters (but that's more unsprung weight); b) custom wheels with proper offset & backspacing (even more money); c) swapping in turbo running gear (money & labor).

If weight is your biggest criteria then get rid of any wheel spacers and have the wheels built to fit.
There is almost a 10lb difference per wheel between some brands. Here are 275 on 10.5x17 This is a 1973 with stock trailing arms and no spacers. Wheels are custom made with a custom offset. ![]()

I'd like to wheels like wayner but that is a bigger project.
Cherry bomb, have you noticed any difference in driving feel after installing those spacers? And exactly how big are they? That's a look I can shoot for for the time being
