Manual window crank - assembly sequence?

I am re-assembling my doors, with the manual window cranks. I have a plastic rosette, a foam ring, a door panel and a window crank.

What is the correct sequence? I am guessing:

foam ring -> door panel ->plastic rosette ->crank

But I am not sure. Can anyone confirm?

George, I don't have the answer but would also like to do this to may car. Could you please let us know what is involved in this work and whether the parts are available new still.

Thank you,

All the parts are available:

Regulator,
Foam spacer
Crank
Conical screw
rosette
crank trim.

Assembly is not complicated, but you have to get/make new door panels to get rid of the electric switches.

the complete electrical setup is "piggybacked" to the wiring loom, which means it can all be taken out without cuttting any wires, just like the electric mirrors.

Only hiccup: the manual regulators are over 300$ each...

Still would like to know where the foam goes.

You have the right sequence .The foam have to be glue on window crank(easier) before install.

Thank you but I am not sure I understand.

You mean that the foam goes immediately under the potmetal crank:

crank - foam - rosette - door panel ?

Ok on your manuel window crank you have hard foam to seal and sort of anti-rattling.There two foam hard one and soft one .the soft one goes as sequence you wrote.A pic would be helpfull to see if you have evrething.

I have the crank, the foam and the black rosette (pics below), and the door panel...
If I look at the PET, they show crank - plastic rosette - foam ring (- door panel?). The rosette seems to go inside the foam ring?

The foam goes under the door panel, to support it. There are several pieces of similar foam under a 911 door panel. The rosette goes into the door panel hole from the outside, to trim the hole. Obviously, it will extend into the foam somewhat.

You have it figured out, don't over-think it.

Over-thinking indeed. I am so glad I see the end of this (first) panel, I'd rather do it right.
Thanks!

So the final answer will be crank - rosette (into the) - door panel - foam - plastic vapor barrier - door's sheetmetal
