Inner tie rod removal (again!!)

Hi all. I have a 1970 911T. I know this has been covered extensively but just wanted to clarify. I have released the outer tie rod with the special tie rod tool, no issues there and taken off the pan underneath. The inner end will not move at all and can't get any leverage from under the car, tried every position and swear word possible) so, I take off the rubber boot and use a chisle or similar to knock the groove round on the back of the large round plate? Also, I hope this isn't a stupid question but which direction should the angled thread be facing when the replacement goes back in, the front or back of the car?! I agree with everyones comments about replacing the tie rods, 30 min job I thought, how wrong was I!!!

Just use the tie rod for leverage, or a pipe wrench. Pipe wrench is what I used to get the old inner tie rod ends off when I rebuilt the one I have for sale.

I installed turbo tie rods but I think that with the stock ones the bolts toe-out.

I remember that being a ***** of a time getting the inner end out. I ended up using a 12 or 14" crescent wrench on the u-joint and then taking the jack handle over the crescent wrench for added leverage. Even still as difficult but it came out.

Thanks for the input. I ended up pulling back the rubber boot and using a metal punch and hammer on the back of the disc, came loose after a few hits! The angle on the thread faces towards the rear of the car. Job and a half but know what to do next time, feels good when you beat it though!
