Where to get porsche type undercoating

Was wondering if the undercoating porsche used is still available somewhere. I posted at paint and bodywork but here also due to more traffic. Thanks

Not really. Wurth sks is available but not the original beige color. It doesn't make any sense why Wurth stopped having the original made but they did.

Under coating

Hi, I think that I would try a Porsche body shop as they technically should know. Are you a PCA member...If so, no doubt you are aware of how huge their membership is. Many within the club have done restorations so try making a post with them.

When and 'if' you find out, please post the info.

Thanks

I used a product called grizzly grip paint. You can get it in a variety of different colors. Here's the link

This is the answer.

Believe you can get gray, white or black. Blend it how you see fit for tint.

The schutz gun is required and it is really really hard to eff it up.

Here is a vid of a guy that says he is using Gravitex, but I don't think it is Gravitex. Note the schutz gun though.

The finish I lay down is more subtle than his. 60 psi-ish. I think his gun is dirty/clogged, frankly. Gravitex flows well.

Your local paint jobber(s) have all you need. It is not that expensive either.

Hi, Pro Form is a Canadian company that was started in the early '70's. It has a very good reputation for it's products that are used at auto-body shops. I have used Pro Form products numerous times over decades with no issues whatsoever.

I work with two jobbers in the Akron area. One, BASF mainly (United Sales) and another that sells DuPont. Both have Gravitex.

Guess it depends on what they like.

I am heading to United Sales tomorrow to pick up some RM Diamont base coat. I will confirm the Gravitex colors just for fun.

I would think the Proform goods would be more than fine, especially given a thumbs up by a member. It's the gun that lays it down. I bought mine from Carcareonline years and years ago when I could get the Wurth. It's basically two pipes with a trigger. I have used mine to oil spray the bottom of cars. It's is not rocket science.

Get the gun and a decent product and you will be happy.
