Shift Coupler Tight

Last night I installed new bushings from Pelican on my 83 SC shift coupler. Disassembly and installation went well except when I drove the pivot pin back in place the pivoting of the spline shaft is very tight now (up/down motion). Is this normal? According to video from ED this movement should not be tight. Is Pelican bushing ID always tight like this when new? I don't think I damaged anything on the pivot pin. Ends are not mushroomed as I can tell. I did assemble it to the car and it seems like it works OK. I didn't have a chance to drive it yet. I just want to make sure it's OK being that tight. Do you have to grease anything?

Under normal circumstances...Delrin (bushing) does not require lube.
It won't hurt to put a little Lithium grease (or similar) on the Delrin before assembly.

I had the same issue. Mine was more snug after the new bushings but seemed very smooth and shifted well when all installed and adjusted.

Sounds like it will be OK. I'll give it a shot and use it.

Thank you for responses!
