Soldering Hard Lines to Thermostat Advice Needed!

Looks like you would need the entire 90deg section of this line. But that is not easy to find. I do not have one.

Quick update,
Took the pipe to a local radiator shop to see what they could do with what I have after cleaning up the ends for them after my amateur attempt at soldering the pipe while still connected to the heat sink I am calling the thermostat.
Hopefully I can post a pic tomorrow of a beautifully soldered end on my pipe then perhaps my attempt at converting the trombone to a carrerra oil cooler.

This is a little off topic, but I have two sets of lines with crush damage. Where would could I get the brass tubing in the same diameter?

The early front "Trombone" coolers are a source of brass tube, though they are getting harder to find.

Hi All
The rad shop took two attempts at the repair as their first attempt left a small split in the pipe.
I have no idea if the repair will hold or leak as they had no fittings to pressure test the pipe.
I'm regretting not taking up Len's offer of parts right away but once
I am in the middle of mocking up my conversion from trombone to carrera cooler and have still to sort out the wiring for the fan. The cooler came with the factory connections to pass through the inner fender but nothing to hook up to from there.
Whats the minimum clearance needed from cooler to tire.
Once installed I will fill it up with oil and see if it leaks.

I didn't realize you have a trombone cooler you could sacrifice. A piece of that probably would have worked along with a copper coupler. Now that the repair is made, try it out. If good, good. If not, here is an alternative.......



I make a M30 Tube nut that would allow a short (8in - 10in) hose section to make a safe & secure connection. The drawback is the fitting will be visible next to the jack receiver.



You will have to source a 1" Flare tool for the hardline. I bought mine on eBay.
