Power windows not working

After running a while my power windows are struggling to work.
My understanding is there is a relay that is heating up and dying.
Problem is I can't find it!
Can anyone help?

The relay is behind the fuel gauge...pull the gauge and I believe it is the middle relay. You should first try to remove the relay, clean the spades with Emory cloth and slightly bend the spades to ensure you are getting good contact. I had an issue once..bad relay the first time but when it happened again, the clean/bend trick worked.

My bad..it's the relay on the far left side when you remove the gauge.

You should be able to easily reach the bank of relays from the trunk. I've done it a thousand times. Removal of the gauge isn't necessary.

Thanks guys. You have no idea how bad this has been bugging me.
Worse is when I get to the track and can't open my window!

Could also be a bad window felt or a motor going bad

A couple times I've lubricated my felt window tracks with graphite spray. It helped a lot.

This could help as well:

I understand all of the other things that can go wrong and I have gone there.
Windows work fine, until I drive the car for a while.
And both windows act the same.

GOOD LUCK,

Have you checked the fuse, it may appear fine but check to see if it is loose, heat will shrink it. When you are stationary, you may have just enough contact at the fuse to have a closed circuit but when you are moving, it may move enough to give you a semi-short. This is what happened to me, while I was using my AC at HIGH and Window at the same time. Replaced#1 fuse block per Dr. Gerry's advice and it solved it for me.

Could certainly be electrical,..need clean copper continuity from source to destination!! Those are easily addressed...keep us posted.

Otherwise, you've a mechanical issue.

BEST!

Doyle
