The part right below #20 license plate panel sounds like the same thing but in aluminum? And cheaper? Just thought i'd point that out in case it was overlooked. |

On a related note, got the estimate and check today, $1500 ($1250 after ded). And that includes the Restoration Design decklid and lower panel. I have a lead on a 964 decklid from another pelican. I think that is what I'm leaning towards. I'll certainly post a pic when it's all done. I appreciate the suggestions and sentiments. Roger

Finally got it back from the body shop!
Finally got it back with the 964 decklid installed. Looks great. I still need to hook up the mechanism so that it can be raised and lowered, but the body shop did verify that everything works.
![]() ![]() I like this look. It still retains the simple narrow body look with the spoiler down, but if I'm travelling at high speed (like at a DE), I can pop up the tail for reduced lift. I guess rolling it into the tree ended well after all! Roger

After all that price speculation, did it turn out to be a $2000 repair ?

2k is in the ballpark if a shop can match the deck without blending the 1/4 panels. Red can be tuff to match.

Banned but not out, yet..

Now that you have your lid, what are you doing to spoil the air in the front? S front spoiler/bumper. From what I have read countless times, when you do one end you need to do the other. Maybe I'm wrong which has been known to happen according to my wife

Hooked up the spoiler. Works great. One touch up and down with the AutoLoc. I even managed to use the switch location from the rear wiper for the spoiler. Perfect.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It might just be in my head, but I swear it feels more stable at high speed (70+). Roger

Wow, that looks great. Well done!
How much weight do you think that deck lid assembly adds vs the stock deck lid? |
