relay is getting warm

Hi,
On my 3.2 1984 carrera the window relay is warm and the battery is draining. I have cleaned door contacts, internal lights all work fine. Relay works fine but where does it gets its power from? Faulty ignition switch? The power windows are working with doors open and ignition off.

On the convertible the windows on my car work with the key off and the doors open. The coupe does something different,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it is a convertible build in DEC 1984 but has all the 1985 model futures.
Relay has been changed but still the same outcome.

If I remove the window relay, I wont have any power any more to the cigarette lighter nor the head light will work with ignition in off. (headlight are working normally with ignition in off position so is this normal?)

If I reinstall the relay I require to activate the door switch first before the head lights work again!

Where can I get good drawings?

This sounds like an aftermarket alarm gone bad. The door switch should have nothing to do with the headlights.

Hi Rick,

Yes you may be correct. Only after activating the door switch after the relay was reinstalled the relay "clicked" and head lights worked again.

May be I need to start to disable the alarm and go from there.

My head lights don't work with the key off. The yellow parking/marker lights work but the head lights turn off when the key is off. I was under the impression that was normal.
