3.2 Carrea cabin heater sensor cable replacement
Wandering if anyone out there has attempted to replace the auto heat sensor cable that runs from the control module between the seats up to the rubber dick that is attached to the roof liner between the sun visors.
I am trying to undertake this and am having trouble pulling the cable through the windscreen A pillar. It appears to be clamped somewhere or possibly pinched at the front guard attachment. My only other thought was to try and run the new wire down the A pillar leaving the old cable in place. Any suggestions appreciated. |

My 84 Targa has the sensor located where your sensor is. Cable was fine, but small thermostat sensor had worked free of its casing and was sitting at the bottom of the rubber housing. Heat ran like crazy until I was able to work the sensor back into position with some hemostats.
If your problem is actually in the wiring, you might consider that in later Carreras they moved the sensor to the lower dash behind the turn signal switch - might be easier to source that part used and run the cable there. For what it's worth. |

Sensor
Thanks Gerry
Do you know if the same sensor was used in the later location behind the dash? |
