Headlight Squirter 1982SC Help needed

I need to realign the position of this headlight washer/squirter on my '82 SC. My question is, is this an easy task, and what is the procedure?

There was a recent post that I can't find. There is a special tool you can buy that is meant for the job.

I would suggest looking into it. I did adjust a 944's without it, but there is risk of cosmetic damage to the tip and no guarantee you will get it to intended aiming position.

It appears that the small tab on the backside of your squirter has sheared off and that the squirter has rotated in the hole. You should be able to grab hold of the assembly by the backside(if you can get your hand in there) and rotate it back to where it belongs. Warren

Mine are always misaligned and pop out of their holes on my 82.

I agree that it appears that the tab on the bottom of the nozzle had sheared off. Aligning or replacing may not be to easy if you have an oil cooler in the wheelwell and even still its a reach. You may need to remove the bumper or the lower valance to gain access to the underside of the nozzle and the plastic bolt that secures.

I had this problem. The jet will not stay aimed properly for long if that little nib is missing from the teardrop point. The fluid hose will pull on the jet tube below and rotate it no matter how tight you screw the plastic retaining nut in the bumper. I temporarily repaired mine by cutting a little pinhole in the teardrop base and building a nib with acrylic (we have all sorts at work), but then the teardrop base cracked.
I think it's time to remove the bumper and do it right. Order two of these jets, as you don't want to have to go back in there again for the other. It is also pretty easy to accidentally break the 90* connector on these when trying to pry the hose off.
To your question: is it an easy task? It's a simple problem that takes 3-4 hours to fix, assuming your front bumper comes off easily. But straightforward.
