I purchased some parts and need help identifying them.
I was told that they came from Porsche Motorsports. The story was they were supposed to be off a 962 from Japan. But who knows, lol. The turbos have part numbers 002-90-601 and 003-90-601 hand inscribed on the housing and a raised number 20192 on the back side. The exhaust side has 002 and 003 stamped in them and raised letters that say " SCHUPPAN " The intakes have no numbers ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey David,
Those pieces would work great on my economy engine refresh! In the meantime, there's a 935 picture thread on page 8 of this forum where several 956/962 gurus post. /bob schoeni

Vern Schuppan made his own 962's for the road with carbon tubs. Must have been turbos spec'd by him for more drivability?

IMHO you have;
Water / Water intake manifolds, Turbo's, Waste gates, Wire harness. Value ? depends on condition and who wants / needs them. |

I know the Waste gate's are 956 - 962 from the part numbers
I am familiar with Vern Schuppan and think that the turbos must/may be from one of his 962cr . But I have not been able to verify this. The only pictures I can find on the web don't show enough of the turbos to be sure. |

So here's what I found out so far....
They are from one of the original Shuppan 962cr cars! Andial built the engines in conjunction with Porsche Motorsport . I spoke with Dave Truax and Eric Bloss, both worked at Andial at the time these cars were built. Eric is now at Porsche Motorsport. Both new as soon as they saw the pictures. The intakes are unique in the fact that they used a single throttle body on each side instead of the 6 individual throttle bodies like the 962 race cars. Now I am going to try and find out who owns the 5-6 cars built. I would like to sell or trade them to someone who has one of the original cars. That's where they belong. So far it's been a great treasure hunt! ![]() |
