1989 Targa - Windshield Replacement....HELP

I'm in need of some help regarding a replacement window for my '89 Targa (last of the old year body style) as the original was cracked while being reinstalled. It would seem that I have a rather late year from '89 as I'm told there were a number of C2/C4 parts that started showing up on these cars.....perhaps that is my dilemma.

The original windshield reads as follows...Sigla 43 R-001047
The replacement windshield (from Stoddard) reads as follows...Sigla 43 R-001033

When going to reinstall, I'm using a Porsche gasket that matches the original - all rubber without the detail that was chrome or black inset in the middle of the piece....I've confirmed this is the proper gasket and is identical to what I removed.

The glass appears to be at least 3/4" smaller on either side at the curve and just ins't side enough to make a proper fit with the seal......my thinking after a little Pelican research is that the replacement was actually spec'd for an earlier 80's Coupe.....or very well might have fit early year '89 except that I'm told Porsche started putting NEW parts on from the C2/C4 when things started to run out in the factory.

Is it possible that my original glass was spec'd for a C2/C4 964 model and was simply being installed as an update from the factory ??

Can anyone confirm the Sigla glass part number they might have in a '89 Targa model for me as reference ??

HELP PLEASE as we are at the end of the build...

Got a pick ". I can say ths If the gasket in fully Covering the
Lip around the frame ". Which is the goal it cal look all kinds of wrong.
Even when it's on the lip doesn't ean that the lip has fully entered the seal.

I just did mine last week ". It was brutal. Hours of playing with it
I finally got a dual suction puller that we use in the guest bathroom for
Holding onto when getting out if the shower . I yanked on the window for
A while then suddenly the entire upper lip bottomed out on the seal and
Presto it was even, I found that removing the metal vent shield from the dash
Was a big help for me also as I did have to use a pick to make the bottom of the gasket
Reflect,, I know you read posts were guys are like. No sweat took me and my buddy
20 mins... That was not the case with mine.
