chain tensioner
Anybody have any experience using the stromski racing chain tensioners? I am thinking it will be a whole lot easier and less expensive than new mechanical tensioners. Any comments would be welcome.

Racing engine? Go for it!
Street engine? Probably not. You can rebuild the tensioners and put on the safety collars quite inexpensively and still have the adjustability and a safe version of the original design. Extra money? Get the oil fed tensioners and change the idler arms to the later design (or get Supertec's modified idler arms).

Using a solid tensioner on a street engine is a viable option but it is critical that the tensioners be adjusted properly. That takes experience or someone patient enough to explain the process.
The only draw back on mechanical tensioners is that eventually they will need too be adjusted.
