Help with VIN/History
I'm trying to find out more about my dad's car. I'm not exactly sure where to go for history, build date, options(if any), where it was sold, and what it's life was like between 1975-2014, Couldn't find much help over on Rennlist either so I figured I'd ask here. All I know is that it's a '74 car bought in 1975, most likely in Ohio.
![]() I have the VIN, it's 9114102778 and here are some pictures of the only numbers that are visible to me, that is to say the only numbers I can easily find. ![]() ![]() ![]() Any help is appreciated greatly, thanks!

E-mail that person--The Feds know when-where-how-it all came to states... Your papers please
Will also steer you in the right direction.. Or contact Porsche-directly--I believe on their website-trace-car info--etc..etc..GL Last edited by wjfk32; 05-08-2014 at 01:09 PM.. |

9114102778:
911 = model 4 = year model 1 = 911 0 = coupe 2778 = consecutive build/chassis number Can't tell much from the VIN. If you can present as the car's owner you can get a CoA (Cert of Authenticity) from Porsche for $100. I did a search for records of a car that I owned, in CA, and privacy laws prevented me from getting a list of past owners from the DMV.
