Hi Daniel
Welcome to the forum & good detective work!

I think you have picked a good time to look for 911's as prices are falling.

There are good conversions from LHD to RHD , so you shouldnt dismiss them absolutely as they can provide a reasonably priced introduction to 911 ownership.

The point I was trying to emphasise to Simon88 is that, around this price point, there are also a lot of RHD imports from UK & these cars are always rusty. In my opinion it is better to have an ex-US converted car than a rusty one.

Good luck in your search.

Hi, thanks for your welcome and advice. :-)

I'll keep that in mind for UK and US imports, very handy information!

I'm not necessarily on the lookout for a perfect car - actually one that needs a bit of TLC is exactly to my liking as I want it to be a bit of a project. However, it just sounds like this one might be more than I can safely tackle by myself (and my father.)

I've signed up to the Porsche forum Australia as well, maybe someone there knows more about this car.

Thanks again.

I have a RHD Targa project that may suit. Its a cheap entry level RHD car

Why not just leave a LHD 911 as it is (provided your state allows) ...... I am priviledged to own both LHD and RHD 911s ... my gf swears there is more leg room in the passenger area of a LHD 911 (I haven't verified that).
In Japan 90% of 911s are ordered new as LHD, and the Japanese drive on the same side of the road as Australia ......

Just read through this thread, looks like you've dodged a bullet there!

I have seen some decent UK imports, a genuine m491 from the UK for 40ish is a damn good buy if it's not rusty IMO. Imports from Japan and NZ can be cleaner. Anyway, good luck with the hunt guys, happy to help out if need be.
