Fuel & Oil Level Sender Gaskets
I see that there are cork and rubber gasket variants for both the oil level and fuel level senders. Is there a preference for either?

I used the cork on my oil level sender and have not had any problems since changing it 4 years ago. I dont see why any one would be better than the other. Maybe there is some difference at high temps but I assume something else will go wrong before your oil heats up to the point of ruining one of these gaskets.
Regards Dave

Thanks. I thought I read somewhere that one was an update of the other.

I used cork, on the oil sending unit. The trick is in torquing it. Apparently the OEM specs are not in enough. I had to go a bit more to keep it from wheeping at the seal

I also used cork on the oil sender, maybe a little extra torque but no issues.

I used cork on the oil sender and rubber on the fuel tank sender. No problems with either.
