U own a 911, you MUST have tools.....Volvo repair
So.....kicking back and have a cocktail and the trailer trash neighbor drags over a gal pal. Volvo be broke.
Fires up and I hear a blown plug......transverse mounted 5 banger. LOTTTA deferred maintenance.....Oi..... Pull everything out, plug has an electrode but nothing else....I scratch my head.....suggest a good Volvo guy down the road. She's screaming poverty. My biggest concern is parts in the combustion chamber. I tell her, buy this, this and this.......comes back.....I toss it in. Plug wire kit and boot....fuchermanken fires right up.....she offers me $$$$ and/or favors.......pass it on.....still got the hots for 'rup'....... 45 minutes.....no biggie.....I spend more time doing other things..... Pass on a good deed.....

I accidentally bought my Volvo after my wife took my Audi for a drive through a brick wall. After 7 years it is still going as good as the first day I got it. Absolutely bulletproof car and very easy and cheap to maintain. Ford bought Volvo purely to get their hands on their engine design, which I guess also says a lot.

my wife gets me into the same crap.
same deal. lots of neglect. changing plugs, on the back side of the motor of course, well one of the plug wires wont come off. i end up breaking the wire. had to go buy another. another friend, and an old volvo. wrecked, extremely neglected and he drives like an old lady. had to do brakes. i can do volvo brakes in about half an hour if just changing pads. not his. several hours later and having to work on it in the yard since my garage is not finished. stuck caliper pistons. never seen them this bad. neighbor comes over. old truck wont start. battery. well, end up having to go thru all the battery cables and connections because they are so bad. the old 4 banger in the volvo is an incredible engine. had one with a turbo. pretty fast. i like the T5's too

My friend Robert bought an old P1800 from a guy in Oakland, CA, and we flew out (from NC) and drove it back. Wonderful car, didn't skip a beat until fifty miles from home and the rain caused some electrical problems. Best seats I've ever experienced.

C30 Volvo
I drive a C30 coupe, turbo 5cyl. automatic. One of the best cars I have ever owned. Have this extended warranty that was transferred to me from original owner, and I have not paid a dime in maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, windshield wipers, etc. Car has 56K miles, and I get one last free oil change at 60K. Great warranty, great car. My wife has a XC 70 wagon she loves. Can load the dogs in the back, plenty of room for groceries, etc. These cars are rock solid.

I had several 240 turbos with ipd suspension etc.. They were very fun & reliable once the cooked engine wiring harness was replaced. Many smiles per dollar. Way to go on the assist.

I've been driving my 1988 Volvo 740GLE 4 banger since 1990.
Been a great car. Terrific rust protection esp. for NW PA winters. At 150,000 miles, though, it's developed valve slap (has had it for quite a while) that goes away when it's warmed up. Is supposed to be typical of that B230F engine...
