Bulb Fell Into Speedo - Me Spazz

As in the title, one illumination bulb fell into the speedo because I was rushing when removing it. I am not really in the mood to pull the speedo apart at the moment. How big a deal would that little bugger be. From my recollections of the speedo's guts I'd be surprised if it got up to too much trouble in the short term.

if memory servers there is some space in the back there between the guts and the back of the metal housing. It should just fall to the bottom and stay there but if you drive aggressively it may shift around a bit. I dont see any reason it would cause an issue unless it somehow got tossed up into the moving parts of the ODO. The Speedo functionality should remain unaffected as that stuff is well protected.

Regards
Dave

Yes, there is access but the green wire is really short, take care not to pull to hard or speedo will be disabled.

You could de-solder and re-solder carefully.

It might be possible for it to create a short from a live wire to the speedo housing.

I did the same when was rebuilding the gear on my odometer. Fortunately it was before I took it apart!

I had this happen. Get a toothpick and wrap duct tape backwards (sticky side out). Took me about five minutes to fish it out. I was envisioning a trip to North Hollywood Speedo. Problem solved.
