CV bolt play in transaxle flange?

Before I took apart my transmission, I had a look at the threads in the transaxle flanges. They were all a little torn up so that I couldn't screw in a CV bolt. I chased one with a thread chaser to clear out the bits and clean up the threads. The threads look clean and they grip, but I'm paranoid that the bolt I inserted has too much play. I have moon plates and serrated washers. I realize it's the tension of everything assembled that holds things together, but I don't remember how much play there was before the threads were damaged. Is this something I should be concerned about? Or should I proceed with the others?

here is a 4-second video that shows the play.

Thanks, SS. Looks like those bolts are threaded as well.

I just happen to have a driveshaft off to change out a CV boot. Was that bolt in the video in the full depth? Assuming yes it is then it is fairly loose compared to mine which has a maximum 2mm sideways movement when screwed in to a point just before the threads protrude through the other side. The video looks like about 3-4mm side slop. Still, if the threads are good enough to allow the cap screw to be torqued up correctly then side slop is not going to be a big issue. You would want to check the torque after driving a few times to be sure. Those Stage 8 fasteners sure are nice, I had a CV bolt snap once and caught it walking out of the CV housing before it damaged something when I saw it while swapping on a set of wets between races, very scary.

Yes, that's in all the way. I think it's more like 2-3mm. I decided to make a chaser from a used bolt with three channels cut into it. After cleaning out the threads with the used bolt, a new bolt fits very snugly. I'll chase the rest of them with this.

Yep, the Stage 8s look like a great idea. I've not had a problem with these bolts backing out, but if I do I'll get a set.

Thanks for the replies!
