Finally!
Hey all! It’s been a long time since last post, but I finally got my baby fixed up!
I ended up trailering over to Automotive Techniques in Novi, Michigan. They did a great job. The owner, Jeff, was absolutely a straight shooter. Dave, the service mgr. was a nice guy as well. Like I said, they seemed to care. They actually talked me out of spending more money (believe it or not)! I drove the car home, 200 miles’ish, two weeks ago. No issues and ran great. Have since driven her a few times and pushed her a bit (can you say powerslide ![]() They pulled the engine and trans, replaced the clutch and upgraded fork. Valve lash adjustment, CV maintenance, full tune up, cleaned up the engine bay (which really needed it), removed AC hardware, and lots of other little stuff. Here are a couple pics. I wish a snapped a few more, but with the shop being 200 miles from home it made it slightly difficult! Cheers p.s. PP always comes through, I truly enjoy being a customer (did I just say I like spending my hard earned money?!) and being part of this community. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Motogman, does his name rhyme with slim shot? If so, my car is there right now. Cheers.

If you had a good check list and some tools like motorcycle jack to rest the engine on, dropping and installing part for engine+tranny is very quick...you can even aim 2hrs each or even shorter.
If you're interested in the check list i can send. PM me if I can be of any help...but be aware i'm just an amateur weekend diy wrench.

You could've come down to Kalamazoo and worked with Claudio, great guy, been racing Porsches for years and actually won every race on the PCA GT4 series in 2009 and 2010 i believe.
However, your car looks great and it appears Jeff has done an excellent job! |

Jeff and team are just completing my engine re-build as well. I, too, am thrilled with the experience. I will share details on the build separately (hoping to fire it up on Friday), but he is a true artist/craftsman, and, above all, gentleman. Congratulations on your project.

Hey. I am from Goshen, Indiana and I take all my Porsches to Bob Farmer in Indianapolis, IN. I would strongly recommend taking it to him. He is extremely fair priced, and also was the first certified Porsche turbo mechanic in the state of Indiana. Farmer Automotive is his company name. Good, honest guy, too. He is going to be doing my SC engine soon.

Euro Autowerks in Belding, just north of GR, is an excellent shop. I had about the same things done to my SC about 8 yrs ago by them. No problems since.

Where the heck was everyone when I started asking a year ago!
![]() Sounds like a lot of good shops and a couple closer than Novi! Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments... Hopefully this helps others in West Michigan find a shop. (Besides for the 200 miles, Jeff was fantastic.)
