door trim protection.
Hi. Can anybody explain or provide images of what Porsche used between the door and the door trim? For example... clear plastic sheet or black? Glued or taped? Want to keep my 76 930 as close to stock as I can get it. Cheers.

The moisture barriers are opaque whiteish plastic.
Available through Pelican or Appbiz pre punched with the holes. Originally lightly glued with a spray adhesive, I often reinstall with a thin bead of old style 3M Window Weld. Stretch it out real thin. The stuff seals and sticks, but never cures allowing for future access. Cooper Edit, just re-read your ? If you are talking about the top of the outside of the door shell, where the trim with window squeege is clipped down, the closest modern product to use would be clear paint protection film. About 1/2"-3/4" wide. Apply to door top, then cut an X at each mount hole to insert clip through. If you need some film email me at cooper.boggs@gmail.com.
