strange breather oil passage issue

Chasing an oil leak from the top of engine I replace all the common things but when I replaced the crankcase breather hose (on top) I blew through the hose just to see if it was clear I got a spurt of oil and air flowing out of the oil cooler hole on the top right. As I blow harder with air pressure the air keeps flowing out the oil cooler supply hole as hard as the air going in????? Doesn't seem right to me I also have low oil pressure at idle any ideas??

What oil cooler hose connection is open on the top right? I can,t picture one above the tank or engine.

I have the oil cooler off the engine and the top right hole is where the air is coming out. This would indicate to to me the oil system is not closed.

My somewhat educated guess. If your crankcase is drained of oil, you are most likely blowing air through the pressure side of the oil pump gears. You mentioned low pressure,
perhaps the pump has worn beyond tolerance.

If you pressurize the crankcase through the vent hose, I would think the cam spray bars would be path for the air to push back towards the cooler. The system is open because you have the cooler off.
