Question Front trunk carpet install

Hi,

just got front carpet kit from PP. Is there any boards(particle board/masonite) that are backing anywhere? Say, that covers blower motor/wipers? How does the carpet attach?

TIA,
ChadC

Only 'board' I have in my 87 is a cardboard panel covering the venting duct work behind the brake reservoir. The carpet clips onto the sides of the top/side of the fenders and on the cardboard panel I mentioned. My carpet just drapes over the front blower motor that is located in the very front just behind the bumper (ROW).

No other boards.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Chad--
same comments as Mark's. On my '85 there are snaps on the sides of the carpet that snap to the fenders and along the bulkhead to the passenger compartment

Mine has an inserted board in the trunk carpet that is just aft of wiper washer bottle which I assume protects the electrics and the charcoal container from items placed in trunk

Thumbs up

Thanks guys.

Thats pretty much what I figured. My old carpet has snaps to attach to the sides, but how do I put new ones on? I'll just make boardsfor those spots.

I would suggest going to a fabric store and asking the kindly salespeople there. My guess is they will have a tool in stock...

Hello

68-73 cars have a wood insert in front abouve the drivers died battery. The main carpet attaches with two clips on the bulkheadcover.
The sidecarpets have 3 or 4 clips.
