Okay, what did I do wrong?

Hello all,
Recently went to Pagid Orange since the car is primarily for track use. Just finished replacing my front rotors and wheel bearings on my '74. I thought that the rotors were warped due to heavy modulation/pulsating on all braking, even very light.

When I was done, the braking issue was still there. The pulsating didn't ease at all. Any ideas on what could be the cause of this? I was in a pretty good spin at Road America and probably flat spotted my tires but the car doesn't feel bad driving down the road.

Also have a squeaking noise from the wheel bearings. Can you overtighten the hub retaining nut (with the hex bolt)? I purchased the parts from Pelican. Is the new race that is included with the inner and outer bearings supposed to be used? I couldn't get the old one out easily and thought that it may be part of the inner hub and the new ones were for different model cars. Either way, the old inner races felt and looked to be in very good condition.

Yes, you were supposed to use the outer races that came with the new bearings! You can get out the old races by heating the degreased hubs in an oven at 325°F for twenty minutes or so, then use a drift to tap out the races. Freeze the new races and lubricate the outer periphery with grease ... and work quickly to get the races seated fully before they heat up!

As far as the brake pulsation, you might have a bent aluminum hub. The rotor bolts to the hub and if it's bent, the new rotor will have run-out just like a warped rotor.
