Car will be painted during an all-day PCA-sponsored Painting Tech-session in Austin next month. :)

Thanks!

MrBonus 06-13-2014 07:10 AM

I vote F.

Reddy Kilowatt 06-13-2014 07:20 AM

F or B. Maybe A. Def not the others.

88911coupe 06-13-2014 07:21 AM

Not C...I'd prefer F as well but with the "straighter" hood stripe on D. I'd love to come down to Austin for that tech session!

5String43 06-13-2014 07:24 AM

A or B - both make the point but are nicely understated.

Das Schnell Ei 06-13-2014 07:27 AM

+ 1 for F .... I like the orange around the lower part of the bumper

Who is doing the paint work if you don't mind me asking?

euro911sc 06-13-2014 07:29 AM

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1392915968.jpg

I like this, but with a wider middle stripe that is the width of the center grill on the hood.

Fubawu 06-13-2014 07:31 AM

F or B.... I am guessing you decided against the RSR body work?
Any details on the motor and interior.

JeremyD 06-13-2014 07:32 AM

There was one on rennlist (9meister) built that was closer to "A" and looked really great.

Eharrison 06-13-2014 07:43 AM

F

And in A the guy isn't wearing his hat.
In B the guy on the right is now wearing pants instead of shorts.
In C Part of the roof in the background is missing'

I love these search photo games.

MarkRobinson 06-13-2014 07:46 AM

3rd Gear Garage in Austin did the prep & is painting the car, but we're doing it in an Air Conditioned man-cave off of 620 by the Lake. The guy has a collapsible paint booth :)

MarkRobinson 06-13-2014 07:51 AM

The body work is RSR, just the IROC (standard 9 & 11's) bodywork & not the ultra wide body.

Interior is all custom, motor is a tweaked 964 with cams & custom headers/exhaust.

Either way it'll be awesome tho!

ganun 06-13-2014 09:29 AM

C or D btw they look like the same

cknaak 06-13-2014 09:35 AM

I like D,

BTW, where in Austin are you having it painted?

72doug2,2S 06-13-2014 10:13 AM

C or D here too

Concestor0 06-13-2014 10:31 AM

"F" The extra orange in contrast to the light blue helps to muscle up the car.

DougZ 06-13-2014 10:55 AM

B or F is the best

Craig_D 06-13-2014 10:59 AM

D & F look great

christiandk 06-13-2014 11:31 AM

Erich Stahler 06-13-2014 09:02 PM

B or F

GWP911T 06-14-2014 08:58 AM

C/D --prefer the minimalist look

911 tweaks 06-14-2014 11:26 AM

I personaly do not like any of the choices you presented as a-f...
If I were you, especially since you are making such a cool custom car, is to make the paint scheme how ever you want it...
....maybe the gulf colors & to the janis joplin scheme or martini scheme with gulf colors...to me THAT WOULD BE COOL and still porschie... good luck...dont be afraid to go outside the box... the heck with those who may not like what you do if it not be porsche approved as this is YOUR CAR... have fun and dont look back what ever you do...Bob :-)

MarkRobinson 06-14-2014 09:10 PM

I could go with a simple 917 orange stripe Gulf theme too... Keep it minimal. :)

jsveb 06-14-2014 10:58 PM

B looks best.

911 tweaks 06-15-2014 05:39 AM

...maybe just paint the entire car the gulf blue and stop there...! this way you can apply removeable orange graphic stickers to any scheme & change w/o any fuss of repainting the car and also if and when you sell the car, the next owner can remove stickers and change to their liking on leave it all gulf blue...just another idea...please post pics of it being painted mark & good luck with this all...
ps...I know you wanted votes on the schemes you listed, so, I hope i am not making your decision any harder than I am sure it already is...I could not vote for any of those so sorry if I am making this more difficult...just a little thinking outside the box and still relevant but not one of your choices... bob

wayner 06-15-2014 05:45 AM

I vote for doing the entire bumper orange. I don't like any of the options that have outlined just parts of it.

MichiganMike 06-15-2014 08:17 AM

+1 for D but paint full front bumper orange like F. Like Jeremy's post above but with orange side scripts.

SC Eddie 06-15-2014 08:45 AM

D has the nicest flow for me.

al lkosmal 06-15-2014 08:56 AM

you are feeling very sleepy......................B..................B.. ................B...................B

twistoffat 06-15-2014 09:06 AM

Ah "F" it

MarkRobinson 06-17-2014 07:24 AM

About to color my latest Scheme...more minimalist than ever :)
Mark

c or d for me cool car

4495 06-17-2014 09:57 AM

C is the best and I won a blue ribbon in an art exhibit in 6th grade. So I have that going for me.

super80 06-17-2014 10:32 AM

I vote for F

911SauCy 06-17-2014 11:24 AM
